In the course of his appearance on a discussion panel entitled “the Future Industrial Structure”, taking place at RANEPA during the Fifth Gaydarski Forum, the minister of industry and commerce of the RF Denis Manturov announced the sum that would be dedicated to the development of engineering – 8 billion rubles.

“In order to obtain qualified workers in the specialty and new, modern manufacturing, it is absolutely vital for us to develop the engineering specialties and engineering as a whole,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, in Russia “just 2% of industrial enterprises actively use engineering technologies”- in the words of the Russian minister cited in “Science and Technology”. “The Ministry of Industry and Commerce along with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of the Economic Development, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology, the Bank of Foreign Economic Activity, and Rusnano are actively participating in the development of a subroutine for engineering – both industrial, and computer, - said Denis Maturov. - The state intends to direct 8 billion rubles towards these goals in the course of five years”.

The minister recalled that in the fall of 2012 the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce held a competition amongst technological colleges to create engineering centers, after which 11 designs were selected from a total of 96. Approximately 500 million rubles has been allocated towards the realization of these designs.

In particular, at the end of last year an agreement was signed regarding strategic collaboration on the issue of creating a unified federal engineering center by the name of “Stankoengineering” between the Moscow State University of Technology Stankin and Stankoprom OJSC. The subject of the agreement was the mutual action of the two parties in the field of developing the Russian machine tools industry and tools industry, including the development of the unified federal engineering center “Stankoengineering”. The key direction of these activities are the security of the scientific and technological development of the domestic machine tools industry and technological re-equiment of the strategic sectors of the machine building complex of the Russian Federation.
